Terms of Ranking
This section is to inform you of the criteria that may affect the ranking of results on Luxxle’s search engine results pages, the processes driving these rankings, as well as the terms by which content, services, or products can be referenced or de-referenced.
The Luxxle search engine allows users to find content and webpages that are related to the keywords entered in the search query. Our results come from the Luxxle search index database that is built by robots (from the “Luxxlebot” family) that regularly browse the internet for sites, pages, and updates which are then added to the indexing database. More information about our bots can be found on our bot page. Before the results are returned to the user, they are ranked by our neural search models, which use machine reading comprehension to analyze the content of results and sort them by which ones best answer the user’s query or are most relevant. Luxxle’s instant answers are also generated this way. Some of the results served by Luxxle may also be derived from third-party indexing services, which complete the list of available results. Luxxle sources data and information from Microsoft, Apple, Twitter, Yelp, Mapbox, Foursquare, TripAdvisor, and Oxford among many others. Luxxle makes the best effort to find and return the most relevant content regarding a user’s query, but the results are not always exhaustive. If you would like to have your website added to our index, please contact us through our contact page, however we don’t guarantee the visibility of your site in the search results.

The way our results are ranked by our algorithms and sorted by our neural search models are done in an automated way. By default, it is done according to the relevance of the content in the results to the user’s query across many criteria. Our result ranking criteria include the frequency, occurrence, and context of the keywords searched in a query in the content of a webpage, the date and seniority of a webpage, the traffic and popularity of the site on which the webpage is hosted, the readability of the webpage, and its accessibility. Our neural search sorting is done using machine reading comprehension techniques, where our neural models read through the content of the results and sort them by which results best answer the query or are most relevant to it. No commercial agreements ever influence or affect the calculation of relevance or sorting and therefore the ranking of a webpage in our search results. However, ads that are related to keywords entered in a query may be inserted into the search results, and they are displayed with the word “Ad”. Furthermore, Luxxle may display its services or those of its partners in dedicated inserts, without altering the ranking of webpages in the results.

Webpage owner’s who want to prevent their page from being indexed in Luxxle’s search database can use the robots.txt file by specifying the “Luxxlebot” user-agent.
When you search for location-based information, Luxxle can show users a map of the location they are searching for and a list of points of interests that correspond with the search query. In these results, ads may appear under the name “Ads”. These ads are ranked based on a variety of criteria that include the geographical relevance of the ad to the request made, the relatedness of the ad description to the query, and the ratings and reviews given by people to the business or point of interest referred to in the ad.

If you would like to have a point of interest added or removed, please contact us through our contact page.
